Today I present to you Donkeys: Mother and foal

I love donkeys, when I lived in Belgium I lived next to a field where they kept donkeys, so each time I went into the garden I got my own unique serenade by these quirky animals. They always made me smile. So I had to make a pattern portraying them 😊

The pattern comes in two techniques, overlay mosaic and interlocking filet crochet with a right- and left-handed pattern, in English, German and Dutch
The pattern comes with charts, written pattern, extensive abbreviations explanations and links to my video tutorials.

Yarn needed:

Overlay mosaic crochet, based on hook 3,5 mm, US D
Pattern colour A dark 1900 meters, 2100 yards
Light background colour B, total 2300 meters, 2500 yards
Size 105 by 145 cm, 41 by 57 inches, variations happens due to yarn thickness, tension and hook size
231 stitches by 313 rows
Add 300 meters, 330 yards per colour for the simple envelope border

Interlocking filet crochet, based on hook 3 mm, US D
Pattern colour A dark 1800 meters, 1950 yards
Light background colour B, total 1600 meters, 1750 yards
Size 105 by 150 cm, 50 by 59 inches, variations happens due to yarn thickness, tension and hook size
115 by 155 windows

Keep in mind when you change your hook size or yarn thickness the blanket needs more or less yarn
